What Should I Do Before My Laser Hair Removal Procedure?

We’ll invite you in for an in-person consultation with one of our medical estheticians, and walk you through every step of the process so you can be sure laser hair removal is the perfect solution for you. You will need to stop the use of retinols, vitamin C, any exfoliating scrubs or glycolic acids in the areas that will be treated. Avoid tweezing or waxing for six weeks prior to your first treatment, and do not tweeze or wax once treatment has begun. Shave the area 24 to 48 hours prior to your appointment. Hair growth that has just broken the surface is perfect for treatment. You will also need to avoid sun exposure for two weeks prior to a treatment.

What Can I Expect During My Laser Hair Removal Treatment?

Although no form of hair removal is completely pain-free, the GentleMax Pro is the most comfortable method with DCD, dynamic cooling device. The sensation is a warm snapping feeling. We apply laser energy to your skin in short bursts, each burst feeling like a small pinch. If you’re sensitive to the sensation, we will provide a numbing cream to the treatment area.

Immediately following treatment, the area may be red or slightly raised. This generally fades within a few hours. The area may feel slightly sensitive for 24 hours. Do not shave or cause friction on the area for 24 hours after a treatment. You might also notice random hairs in the treatment area, and some new hairs might even grow in, but those will fall out soon after.

Avoid direct sun exposure for a week after treatment.
